Purpose and Significance of Report
The purpose of this report is to assess the feasibility of developing community programs specifically tailored to individuals with SHCNs. The report will include research completed through surveys and interviews of both dental professionals as well as individuals with SHCNs and their care givers, recommendations will be provided following the research results. Results of this research will be significant to both parties of the intended audience because it is directly related to their field of work and will benefit the causes of their organizations and be beneficial for the community.
Report Objectives
The objectives of this report are:
- To determine how many current programs are available for those with SHCNs
- How much demand is there for oral hygiene programs for the selected demographic
- What is the current level of knowledge regarding oral hygiene care for individuals with SHCNs and their care givers?
- How big of an impact will these community oral hygiene programs have on the selected population’s oral and overall health?
- To provide recommendations on this issue following the research
Methods:
Primary data collection via an online survey targeted to dental professionals and individuals with SHCNs or their care givers. Attached is the link to the survey questions being used to gather data for this report:

Secondary sources will include researching online for number of current programs available and interview questions for dental professionals and individuals with SHCNs

Research Plan
In order to analyze feasibility and provide effective recommendations, I plan to:
- Research how many community programs are currently available for those with SHCNs
- How large is the demand for oral hygiene programs for this group of people – with the help of survey and interview.
- Determine the current level of knowledge regarding oral hygiene care for individuals with SHCNs and their care givers
- Describe what kind of impact community oral hygiene programs can have on the selected population’s oral and overall health
- Determine the need for new community programs and make recommendations to improve the quality of community dental programs
Writing Schedule
Attached is my writing schedule for the coming months:
– July 13-15 – work on intro
July 16-18 – work on body and summarizing data
July 19-21- write a draft
July 22 – proof read and post draft
