- Using your school e-mail address will provide some credibility to your professor on who the sender is and he will feel a stronger urgency to respond
- Avoiding the use of imperatives along with the “you” pronoun will help your e-mail sound friendly instead of condescending
- Writing to your professor using formal language demonstrates respect and clarity on what you are asking for
- Expressing gratitude for your professor’s time will increase your chances of reply and show your appreciation for him
- Including information such as your name, e-mail, student number, and URL in an e-mail signature will give your professor enough details to enrol you in the course
