In accordance with the assignment description, I have completed and posted my formal report proposal for increasing community oral hygiene programs tailored to individuals with special needs. Please find attached document below for the full proposal.
My research proposal contains the following:
- Introduction of Topic: Increasing oral hygiene community programs for individuals with special needs
- Statement of Problem: Bigger dental issues arising due to lack of good oral hygiene home care
- Proposed Solutions: Developing and pursuing oral hygiene educational programs specific to their unique needs and challenges
- Audience: Community leaders/councilors, non-profit organizations, dental foundations, dental schools, and students
- Scope of Questions: Number of current available programs, demand, level of knowledge, impact of program on oral and overall health
- Methods: Interviews and surveys of dental professionals, individuals with SHCNs, involved care givers and family members
- My Qualifications: RDH, passion for good oral health and community service
- Community: Describing the positive impact that these programs can bring
