Peer Review Term: Post-Production

Thank you, for the great work on assignment 1:3. Please, see the review of the document below with appropriate suggestions, strength and weaknesses.

First Impression:

You did an excellent job defining the concept. Organizing the assignment with subheadings makes it easier to read. The visual representation of the term is accurate and simple to understand. Overall, the reference list is correctly formatted; however, there is a minor error that must be corrected; please see below for more information.

Organization:

  • The introduction of the assignment is clear, with required details for understanding the assignment included.
  • The overall organization of the document is easy to read, due to the use of bolded headings and numbers when listing the expanded definition
  • The term’s visual representation is labelled appropriately.
  • The reference list is formatted in accordance with the APA 7 citation style; however, removing the date and only keeping the year for the last citation would be more accurate.

Expressions:

  • The Parenthetical definition is well-written, however there is a minor punctuation mistake. If brackets are used to provide explanation, use (i.e., the editing of visual and audio material). As well as, the full stop goes after the in-text citation.
  • Similarly, in Analysis of parts section, the in-text citation goes before the full stop.
  • Overall, the tone used throughout the assignment is clear and professional.
  • In some cases, wordiness can be omitted. For example, in Required Condition, 1: “In order for the post-production stage to be a success, all team members need to be involved in the editorial and audio stages , be open to collaboration (Chalcraft, n.d) and provide feedback and approvals by the deadlines.”
  • It can be rephrased, as following: For the post-production stage to be successful, all team members must be involved in the editorial and audio stages, be open to collaboration, and provide feedback and approvals by the deadlines.

Content:

The document is complete according to the assignment requirements; it includes

  • A detailed introduction
  • Three forms of definition
  • Four types of expansion
  • A visual
  • A reference list

Visuals:

  • As previously mentioned, the visual depiction of the term is easy to understand and is labeled appropriately. However, the source from which the diagram was taken is not mentioned in the reference list.

Reference List:

  • The reference list is formatted in accordance with APA 7 guidelines. However, the citation of the diagram is missing. As well as, omitting the date of the last citation and only keeping the year would make it more comprehensive.

Grammar and Typos:

  • There were no major grammar mistakes or typos observed, great job on that.

Concluding Comments:

Thank you for writing such an interesting, informative, and well-organized definition.  This will be a really useful and excellent document with the following edits.

  • Correcting the punctuation of some sentences, will make the document more professional
  • Rewording some of the sentences, will make the document less wordy and more concise.
  • Double checking that all sources are included and correctly formatted in the reference list.
