Subject: Formal Report for Implementing Ramadan Meals Accommodation for UBC Students

As outlined in Unit 2 Lesson 1, I have published my formal report proposal on the team forum. I have also attached my formal report proposal to this memo, please refer below for a brief summary:

The formal report proposal includes:

  • Introduction that provides background information on Ramadan and the importance of meal accommodations
  • Target audience description
  • Statement of problem that highlights the lack of adequate meal accommodations during Ramadan for Muslim students at UBC
  • One proposed solution to the problem, which is to implement Ramadan meal accommodations for Muslim students at UBC
  • Scope of questions that need to be addressed to assess the feasibility of the proposed solution, including the number of Muslim students at UBC, their dietary restrictions, and their meal preferences during Ramadan
  • Methods for conducting research, which will involve primary data collection through surveys and interviews with Muslim students at UBC, as well as secondary data collection through literature review and analysis of existing practices at other universities
  • Your qualifications as a psychology major with extensive research experience on inclusivity in POC and inter-generational immigrant trauma
  • Conclusion that emphasizes the importance of Ramadan meal accommodations for Muslim students at UBC and the potential benefits that can be derived from their implementation
  • References in APA format for the sources cited in the proposal.
