Subject: Ten Best Practices for LinkedIn

As requested in assignment 2.2, I have listed the ten best practices for a great LinkedIn profile. I hope this information can prove useful to your endeavors.

1. Optimizing your headline: By using a clear and concise headline to summarize your professional experience and expertise, your profile will stand out in search results and attract more visitors to your profile, which can increase your chances and possibilities of being in contact with potential employers.

2. A professional profile picture: A professional profile picture can showcase your professionalism and seriousness, which is often the primary requirement for higher-level paying jobs. You should avoid using casual or inappropriate pictures for your profile as your profile picture is your first online impression to other viewers.

3. A story-like summary: Use the summary to write a life story that can highlight your skillsets, accomplishments, and career goals. Compose it as a story to captivate readers but remember to keep it clear and concise of your strengths and admit your weaknesses to appear humble and likable if -you see fit, as work field requirements and appeal varies.

4. Highlight your achievements: Other than briefly mentioning your achievements in your summary, provide a clear list along with evidence, and talk about the positive impact and importance of your experience to establish your online reputation and persona further.

5. A personal URL: Customize your LinkedIn profile URL to make it personalized, making your profile easier to share and identify on the website while showcasing a tentative quality of paying attention to detail.

6. Skill section for searches: The skills section is one of the vital sections for your exposure on the website, as the keywords you input there are correlated to search results. Thus, make sure you use the correct wording to increase your visibility on the website.

7. Recommendations: Ask for referral and recommendation letters from your former workplace to endorse your skills and experiences. The letters can be from your employer, manager, or colleagues because any professional third-party input can improve your validity and trustworthiness better than simply being your own words.

8. Activities on LinkedIn: By frequenting LinkedIn, you can expand your connections and prove your interpersonal skills by simply sharing and commenting on people’s posts, which can improve your chance of having your posts shared and commented on by others, increasing your visibility on the website.

9. Use multimedia to customize your profile: Use images, videos, and presentations to showcase your works and accomplishments. Having additional sources that can represent your work can be more engaging and help you stand out on the platform.

10. Profile updates: Update your profile regularly to ensure it includes all your new skillsets, accomplishments, and experience. You wouldn’t want anything left out when it could improve your visibility.

I hope these suggestions can help you build a great LinkedIn profile that contributes to your future success. I have attached a page of reference for your convince if you wish to learn more.

Regards,

Gareth Yuen
