Subject: Proposal for increasing academic support for student athletes at the University of British Columbia
As stated in Unit 2.1 for ENGL 301, I have completed and posted the formal proposal onto my writing team’s forum, Long’s Team. I have also attached the formal proposal in docx format. Please see below for the formal project proposal summary.
The attached formal proposal includes:
- Introduction – Present issues with lack of academic support for student athletes
- Statement of Problem – Lack of academic support for student athletes are affecting their performance in sports and in the classroom
- Proposed Solution – Offer free tutoring sessions for athletes only and hire more academic advisors, and creating a more cohesive academic support system for student athletes
- Scope – Investigate current resources and support for student athletes
- Methods – Survey regarding current resources and support
- My Qualifications – Being a student athlete for 3 years now and my experiences with lack of academic support
- Conclusion – Implementing athletes only tutoring and awareness among professors and providing flexible options for assessment of learning
