Subject: Ten Best Practices for LinkedIn Professional Networking

Dear Team SJGG,

LinkedIn is a professional networking website. Professionals are able to connect with other individuals with similar backgrounds and interests. I have organized a list with 10 tips to build a professional network on LinkedIn.

1. 1. Expand network. Connect with others in similar job field of work and follow up with connections.
   2. Highlight skills and services on personal profile. Creating a skillset supports introduction with further background knowledge about current skills.
   3. Display a professional photo for personal profile. Potential connections draw a first impression based on the profile photo.
   4. Deviate from using common words to highlight skills. Words such as “leadership, experienced and creative” (Deehan) are commonly used and will not make your profile stand out from others.
   5. Attend LinkedIn Events. Meet and engage with others with similar goals and interests.
   6. Create posts and content on LinkedIn. Being active on LinkedIn promotes examples of work with LinkedIn network.
   7. LinkedIn Profile is up to date. Stay up to date with new skills, occupation and/or certifications.
   8. Provide detailed description of current occupation in the profile headline. Personalize profile introduction with a brief description of current and past roles and motivations in job market.
   9. Implement recommendations from others. Examples of past work from others builds the integrity of apply to new occupations.
   10. Comment on others posts and content. Replying to people within LinkedIn network enables more discussion.

These 10 practices drastically improve networking experiences on LinkedIn. By updating it frequently, attending online events on LinkedIn, and posting content on LinkedIn contributes to attracting attention from others.
