Subject: 301 Progress Report : Implementing Express Lines at Tim Hortons that are located on UBC Vancouver Campus
Purpose of Report
The purpose of the report is to investigate the feasibility of implementing more express lines at the Tim Hortons located on UBC.
Significance of Report
By examining the research results, the audience can decide whether to implement express lines at the Tim Hortons they manage or own.
Intended Audience
Managers and Owners of the Tim Hortons located on UBC Vancouver campus.
Report Objectives
The objectives of this report are:
- To determine the need of addressing slow wait times at Tim Hortons
- To confirm the feasibility of adding more express lines to the Tim Hortons that are located on UBC Vancouver campus
- To provide recommendations on possible methods for implementing the express lines across more Tim Hortons on campus
Methods
Primary sources are data collected via an online survey distributed among current students at UBC, and a short email questionnaire for the management teams of the Tim Hortons located on campus. Attached are the link to the survey questions and the list of questions in the short questionnaire:

Research Plan
In order to analyze feasibility and provide effective recommendations, I plan to:
- Identify the the wait time for small orders
- Research the impact of long wait times on customer satisfaction through primary literature and surveys
- Design a survey and the questionnaire to determine the current sentiment of Tim Hortons amongst students on campus.
- Distribute the survey and the questionnaire and collect primary data.
- Conduct data analysis and perform cost analysis.
- Draw conclusions using findings from both primary data, primary literature, and secondary sources and produce appropriate recommendations.
