My Best Work

This page contains some of my best work during ENGL 301 this summer. Here are the links to each assignment which are modified based on the peer reviews from my writing team and as well as the feedback from the instructor.

Revised Definition Assignment

  • Appreciate the importance and role of definitions in technical writing
  • Understand how audience and purpose indicate the need for definition

Revised Peer Review of the Definition Assignment

  • Carefully examine the overall document and consider my partner’s writing techniques and strategies
  • Offer my partner positive feedback as well as critical and constructive advice for editing.

Revised Formal Report Proposal

Revised Proposal Memo

The most important part of writing this proposal is to find an appropriate topic that is achievable and meaningful to our community. Also, the key is to mention the audience of the report.

Revised Progress Report

Revised Survey

In this phase, the report structure should be presented with a clear report outline. Also, a progress report was posted to provide updates on the report progress together with a list of approved survey questions.

Revised LinkedIn Best practices memo

Research effective networking via LinkedIn and provide a list of ten best practices.

Revised Memo to Evan Crisp

A memorandum of advice to Evan Crisp on best practices in writing an e-mail to a professor seeking to be added to a full course, and demonstrate the you-attitude toward Evan in this memo.

Lesson learned from instructor’s feedback: Stay in the present tense (change “would” to “will” )

Revised Complaint letter and Response letter

Write two business letters from opposite perspectives and practice a neutral statement with YOU-attitude.

Revised Peer Review of a Formal Report

Review in detail the formal report written by one of my teammates.

Lesson learned: Edit out the pronoun “I” and should not refer to ‘the author’
