Dear Fellow English Colleagues:

Please consider my application to join your writing team. I will graduate from the University of
British Columbia’s Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene program in Spring 2022. I am taking
English 301 in order to round out my portfolio of skills; and I look forward to collaborating with
my classmates to hone our writing skills.

Over the past twenty years I have worked in the field of dentistry, and I need to write concisely
and accurately throughout my day. I have owned my own dental hygiene clinic since 2019. In
my work, I need to communicate with patients of all ages, dentists, physicians, the public, and
more. As part of a university-level English collaborative student team, I hope to bring
enthusiasm and a strong work ethic to the group.

My work with colleagues and the public over the past many years allows me to work well in a
team environment.
