Reflection Unit 2

This was the first time I used LinkedIn as a social media platform. I was unsure what benefit LinkedIn could bring before I took the course. However, being able to create a professional social media network was an incredible experience for me. The interface was quite easy for me to use, so I was able to create a well-organized and clear LinkedIn profile with ease. The bio part was the hardest part of the whole LinkedIn profile as I needed to show my charisma and ability with a limited amount of words in order to catch the eye of the audience.

I had a hard time brainstorming for the report proposal because I was not in Vancouver, so I could not do a report for Canadian organizations as it would be more inconvenient for both me and the organizations due to the time zone difference. Therefore, I tried to reach out to the organizations that were close to where I was staying. I was finally able to use my skills and experience from the past jobs and school to search for a suitable research organization. I was quite worried about writing an 11 page report, but I felt a lot more confident in writing the report after I finished writing my outline. The outline helped me focus on what to do and set a date for me to complete the tasks.

In the peer review process of my teammates’ work, I learned a lot by reading their work. I am able to notice what they did best and have tried to learn and improve on the areas I am not strong in. Through review my teammate s’ work, I learned some of the wordings and sentence structures that would enrich my overall writing skills. Besides reading my teammates’ proposals, the reviews from them are also very useful as they pointed out my mistakes and I am grateful they really put in the effort to help me. They have given me a lot of useful advice for my propos al in my future writing.
