This was my first time writing a formal report, so I was a little bit nervous thinking whether or not I would be able to write a 15 page report. I have never written any essay with this length. Therefore, I was not confident I could gather enough data to support my report. It was also the first time for me to create my own questionnaire. At first, I was quite confused on how to create a questionnaire that could get me the answers to the questions I had for the shopping mall. However, the user interface of the Google document was really easy for me to use. That was the reason why I was able to easily create the questionnaire which was crucial in gathering the data required. While I was using the google document to create my questionnaire, I realized that having a user friendly interface was really important for a customer to have a good experience in using the application. It gave me an idea on what my report should focus on. The reason was my report topic was about how to improve the visitor flow in a shopping mall and that would be mostly related to the customer experience in the shopping mall. I learnt to think from the customer’s perspective and tried to put the priority on the customer instead of the company. This idea also coheres with the You-Attitude I learnt from class. Therefore, I was able to apply what I learnt in class and merge it with the assignment. During the peer review of my draft, I was able to spot the mistakes from my peers and realized that I was also making the same mistakes they were making. It was also interesting to peer review other’s work as they were doing totally different topics and it always amazed me when I saw their creative ideas. I was also able to review their work from a different perspective with the guidelines provided. In sum, I am glad that I am able to write a formal report as this would be a very important experience for me in my future work.
