Self reflection

Learning process and Assignments

Throughout the semester I learned so much about technical writing. For instance, I learned that there are so many rules when writing memos, proposals, resumes, cover letters and so much more. Most importantly, I didn’t realize how complicated the rules are, but with help from the textbook and feedback from my instructor and peers, it became simpler. For example, the peer-reviewing process is quite difficult for me at first because I don’t really know what to say, and even with examples provided in the “Instructor blogs” it is still quite confusing. But with the various peer review opportunities offered throughout the semester, my so-called weakness has become a strength. Also, learn how to do a good peer review.

Future goals

While I learned how to do peer review formally, the most important part is learning how to write memos, proposals and reports; as well as, how to write a CV and cover letter since these are required for the workplace and in Graduate School. Therefore, these assignments prepared me for either the workplace or post-graduate studies. In my case, the work I will be doing in Law school and more specifically the reports I might need to write in Law School. Therefore, this course taught me the required skills for me to be successful in the future.
