I have reviewed your letter of application and I am very interested in working with you in a writing group. You mentioned that you would love to work in a group that write about technology and most of our members have computer science background. Your previous degree in philosophy also makes you a great candidate for our ENGL301 writing team. Philosophy requires deep and critical thinking which I believe will aid as a valuable peer-edit feedback in the group. Furthermore, your experience in debates suggests that you have the ability to communicate concisely and precisely, which are very important in technical writing. Your past work experience as a salesman and a C# developer suggests that you are responsible and skilled in technical communication. Furthermore, you described yourself as a kinesthetic learner and I agreed with you that the best approach to creating a piece of writing is “just write” along with constant revision. That being said, your ability in proof-reading and editing will be a great asset to our writing group.
