Exposure:
- Partial sun to full shade; do not plant in full sun
Leaves:
- Leaves are decurrent on a widened petiole
- Rosette of upright leaves at base
- Deciduous
Flowers:
- Tubular corolla with notches petals and a flattened limb
- Starts flowering from the bottom
- Separate whorls of flowers; first set occurring approximately 20cm from base, and then at every 6-7cm
- Each whorl has 6-18 flowers and up to 8 separate whorls
- Large range of intense colours; pink, orange, peach, yellow
- Bloom period: 6-8 weeks; late spring to mid-summer

- Cottage or informal gardens
- Cut flowers
- Mass planting

- If planted close together the plants are promiscuous and will form hybrids
