- Small, scale-like eaves occur at each node
- Distinct, black bands at each node
- Evergreen stems
Flowers:
- Non-flowering
Suitable uses:
- Water gardens
- Near pond edge
- Bog gardens
- Wet, low areas that most other plants won’t tolerate
- Vertical accent plant
- Upholds an architecture appearance; linear qualities
Other:
- Can be invaded by weeds if not properly maintained
- It is important that there is a maintenance management plan in place, and would be most suitable for locations that can afford the maintenance
- Can become quite aggressive if not contained properly; spreads through rhizomes
- Parts of plant are poisonous if eaten
The listing says herbaceous, but the description says evergreen. Seems contradictory. Please clarify.
