  • Tolerant of dry soils
  • Well-drained

Exposure:

  • full sun to part shade (best in full sun)

Leaves:

  • Ovate to broad, lanceolate leaves
  • Margins are toothed
  • Nice contrast between top and underside of the leaves
  • Interesting leaf posture
  • Herbaceous perennial

Flowers:

  • Showy, dense clusters of lilac blue flowers
  • Flowering on terminal spikes
  • Edible
  • Reliable; long bloom period (June to September)
