2019 New Admissions Staff Welcome

In November of 2018, the Undergraduate Admissions team welcomed the largest ever group of new staff for the 2019/2020 application cycle with 17 people! In the back from left to right we have: Daniel Dias, Sarah Chay, Terrence (Terry) Chiu, Kiran Judge, Sophie Thompson, Jiyoun (Jenny) Park, and Torey White. In the front from left to right we have: Zhaoying Hu, Lu-Hsia (Lulu) Yeh, Kristina Shen, Lorie Lee, Natasha Latter, Modi Jiao, Angela Jung, Huong Nguyen, Nao Fujiwara, and Yu (Joe) Zhao.

Within this group are several returning staff members including Terry, Huong and Nao as Associate Admissions Advisors. New recruits to the admissions team include Sophie, Torey, Jenny, Lulu, and Kristina as Admissions Coordinators, and Sarah, Daniel, Zhaoying, Kiran, Lorie, Natasha, Modi, Angela, and Joe as Associate Admissions Advisors.

The new team is a fun and positive bunch who are tackling their work head on! Undeterred by the amount of applications they have to tend to, they also indulge in many interests outside of work.

When I write, I think in English. When I count, I think in Chinese.

Is this your first time working at UBC?

No, I’ve been at UBC for 2 yrs and second time with Undergrad Admissions.

What is your favourite food?

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I learned how to ride a bike in less than half an hour. My sister took me to a hill and told me to just go down.

Is this your first time working at UBC?

I have been at UBC for four years and I started as a Staff Finders temporary employee.

Noodles! I love noodles in all sorts, pasta, ramen, pad thai etc!

What is an interesting fact about yourself?

I’m left handed!

No, I have previously worked at Go Global International Learning Programs and at the Department of Anthropology

I can speak 6 languages!

This is my first time working at UBC, but I studied my BA in Political Science here at UBC.
