2020 ES Wellness Afternoon

Wednesday, August 12, 12:30-4:10 pm

  • 12:30-1:00 pm:  Annie and Kate will kick off Wellness Afternoon at 12:30 pm. Make sure to join the session to hear important information about the event. See Outlook invitation for Zoom link.
  • 1:00-3:50 pm:   Each of the three afternoon sessions run for 50 minutes, with a 10 minute break in-between sessions to give you a chance to refresh, grab a snack, etc. before you move onto your next activity. Please ensure that you arrive on time for your sessions as late arrivals can cause disruption for your facilitator and colleagues. Zoom links were emailed to registered participants.
  • 3:55-4:10:  Join your ES colleagues for short wrap-up to thank all of the people who worked hard to bring the event together, and share stories from the afternoon. See Outlook invitation for Zoom link.

Need help finding your sessions?

  • Check your emails for Zoom links for the Wellness Afternoon activities you registered in.  Manpreet or Ashley sent them to all registered participants on Monday or Tuesday.
  • Zoom links for the kick-off at 12:30 pm and wrap-up at 4:50 pm were sent via Outlook meeting invitation. If you did not receive those, contact one of your colleagues and ask them to forward you the invite.
  • If you registered for Worry Less, Enjoy More, read the email sent by Ashley yesterday. You must click on the Morneau Shepell link in advance of the session to receive a Zoom link directly from them. We are not be able to assist you to gain access to that session.
  • Having issues connecting to your session? Contact the producer for your session. See below.
  • Have other questions? Ashley  will be monitoring her inbox during sessions 1 and 2 and Coby will be monitoring her inbox during sessions 2 and 3.

If you are having trouble connecting to your session, please contact your session producer within the first 10 minutes of the session start time. After 10 minutes you can no longer enter these sessions, and can instead visit the Virtual Watercooler.

Telling the STORY of ES Wellness Afternoon 2020

In Indigenous communities, stories are passed down through generations, and storytelling plays an integral role in keeping moments alive and learning from the past.

ES Wellness Afternoon is an opportunity for ES staff and teams to connect through a shared experience. The sessions we participate in have the potential to bring us closer together (while being apart), to learn more about each other, our gifts and our talents.

Volunteer to be a session storyteller and help us tell the story of this year’s ES Wellness Afternoon over Zoom. While we’d love to participate in all of the Wellness Afternoon sessions, it’s not possible. Storytelling is a way to “connect the dots” and share memories of our afternoon together.

At the beginning of each activity, the session producer will invite participants to volunteer to be a storyteller. If you wish to volunteer, message the producer in the chat box, and when we re-convene at the end of the day you can volunteer to share your story or you can share it  through the post-event evaluation survey. We will collate all of the stories we receive and share them back with ES after the event in order to maintain our connections and hear about all the fun we had!

Storytellers will be asked to consider the following questions:

  • What did you learn during the session?
  • What else did you experience?
  • How will what you learned or experienced contribute to your wellness?
  • Are there tips to share with the group about wellness?
