Have you ever wondered why colleagues acknowledge the traditional and unceded territory of the Musqueam (xʷməθkwəy̓əm) people?

What goes into a territory/land acknowledgement, and what are the things we can think about to engage responsibly in this practice?

The Centre for Teaching and Learning Technology will be hosting a panel discussion featuring Musqueam Elder Larry Grant and senior First Nations and Indigenous Studies faculty Drs. Linc Kesler and Daniel Justice for perspectives on the pedagogical significance of these acknowledgments, their broader cultural meaning, their role in ongoing relationship-building practice, and how to meaningfully incorporate territory/land acknowledgments into your work as one part of a larger practice of engaging Indigenous knowledge and perspectives.

Date: Tuesday, Oct. 4
Time: 2:00 – 4:00pm
Location: Irving K. Barber Learning Centre

Registration is required – details are available here.
