Did you know that UBC provides many free software programs for staff to download on work computers? Free software includes basic productivity programs like Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, but the offerings have recently expanded to include Adobe Pro, for editing and packaging PDF documents, and Adobe Creative Cloud, a feature rich suite of multimedia creation tools.

While the software is free, please consider your needs before requesting to download Adobe Creative Cloud (CC), as Snagit (also free from UBC) can do many of the image editing tasks most users need and it’s a much more user-friendly (easier to use) program.

If you aren’t sure which program meets your needs, please contact Coby Thurmeier, Learning & Engagement Strategist in Enrolment Services.
