{"id":4153,"date":"2016-04-12T08:54:59","date_gmt":"2016-04-12T15:54:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/esnews\/?p=4153"},"modified":"2016-04-12T08:54:59","modified_gmt":"2016-04-12T15:54:59","slug":"positive-space","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/esnews\/positive-space\/","title":{"rendered":"Positive Space"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/positivespace.ubc.ca\/files\/2014\/07\/PosSpace-web-badge-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"133\" \/>The Positive Space Campaign at UBC is an initiative intended to help make the university\u00a0more receptive to and welcoming of its lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans* (transgender, transsexual, trans-identified), two-spirit, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual (LGBT*TQIA+) communities, individuals, and of issues of sexual and gender diversity on campus.<\/p>\n<p>It aims to foster a welcoming atmosphere and inclusive, respectful dialogue on campus for people of all sexual orientations and gender identities by identifying spaces where sexual and gender diversity is supported and valued.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone at UBC can volunteer to become a Positive Space Resource Person. \u00a0If you are interested in getting involved, start by signing up for a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/positivespace3.sites.olt.ubc.ca\/workshops\/\">workshop.\u00a0<\/a>Training sessions are offered regularly on both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses.<\/p>\n<p>If you would like to find a resource person, they can be identified by the Positive Space stickers and buttons in their workspace.
