As you know, I worked ICORD. Today is my last day of work.

I worked many things in ICORD. My work is to compare spinal injury rats group in spinal uninjury rats group.

First, I slide their spinal bone.

Second, I took some pictures through microscope and I count cell number in picture.

Third, I analyzied their footprint. As I see their footprint, I can know which rat has injuried.

Through this program, I can learn about real laboratory environment and experiment skill.

working in ICORD

I’m working in ICORD. I’m researching about spinal cord injury with three mice groups. One group is mice that have a normal spinal cord. Other group is mice that have a injuried spinal cord. The other group is mice that have a injuried spinal cord, but they got treatment by ICORD’s new treatment.

For comparing injuried mouse’s spinal bone with uninjuried mouse’s one, I sliced their spinal bone first.  Second, in order to watch them well, I have to dye them with chemicals.

Finally I watched them and took a picture them through the miroscope.

I finished this process last week. Now I analysis about mouse foot print in order to compare with three groups.

How different Korean lab. and Canadian lab.?

When ICORD was decided as my intership company, I searched about this company. Through searching about that, I wondered how different Korean laboratory and Canadian laboratory.

Actually Canadian laboratory is not much different from Korean laboratory. Beacuse the most Korean researchers tend to study in abroad, especially  North America, Korean laboratory is simillar with North American one.

Of course I don’t have any experience in Canadian laboratory. I don’t know all about them. Through this internship program, I hope to be good an opportunity to learn about Canadian laboratory environment.

Working in Abbott as RA intern

Last year I worked in Abbott Vascular Korea.

Abbott Vascular Korea is multinational pharmaceutical company. I worked in RA team. RA is regulatory affairs. When they import medicine from other country, they have to get permission. RA works about this part.

When I worked in Abbott, I assisted their work. I reviewed permission papers before they apply permission. When I found error, I reported to my boss and corrected them. And I scanned RA dossier and archived data as computer files to protect it from accidental loss.

Through this experience, I can learn environment of real company and how to use Excel and Power point well. I had an opportunity working with people in company.

This experience  is very valuable thing.
