Definition
- Monetary resources limit what it is possible to produce.
Philosophy
- The economic environment influences the concept of what is possible.
Design
- Budget determines design possibilities.
Ethics
- Economic resources determine the type of technology available and who has access to it.
Anthropology and Sociology
- Financial resources affect anthropology by determining what type of technological artifacts are developed and how they can be used.
- The technology then influences sociology by influencing how people can interact and collaborate.
History
- Economic advantages have defined the path and progress of technological development.
Politics
- Politics determines the type of technology that is invested in.
Psychology
- Technology may be selected on the basis of popularity and/or familiarity.
Ecology
- There are ‘hidden’ costs that arise due to the ‘disposable’ nature of technology.
Spirituality
- Religious beliefs may influence what types of technology are purchased or used.
