The Online Oxford English dictionary suggest that the word “religion”  may have origins in the Latin word “religare”, which means “to bind” and this is partially how Dudeism self identifies as a religion, through a simple, core set of beliefs that emphasize a relaxed attitude towards life.

The Main Tenets of Dudeism:

To liberate us from thinking that’s too uptight

To achieve a state of “taking it easy”

To cultivate an appreciation of the present (abiding)
