INTRODUCTION:

Vygotsky’s theories are well-known and widely accepted. For this particluar project, we made a decision to expand knowledge about him, and his theory, to transcend the usual information. Our content will span three different areas:

1. We will examine the historical context of Vygotsky and the critiques of his theory  (videos on this page are there to provide additional details and are optional)

2. We will look at an example of social learning via technology, within the scope of our own online classroom

3. We will detail what happens when this theory is taken to extremes

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Each page will have interactivities and discussion questions. All questions should be responded to directly on our blog. Please make sure to indicate your name in all postings if you are not logged in, so that others may address you.
  • Many of our questions are there to guide your thinking. Please try to respond to one question, or discussion from each page. Responding to polls is optional, but appreciated.
