Hi all,
My name is Nick and this will mark my seventh course in the MET program. As a result, I’m sure many of us have collaborated together at some point. I’m currently teaching a combination of K-5 STEM and PHE at an independent school in the Vancouver area. I am also serving as my junior school’s “innovation and technology curriculum coordinator” which is a new additional role for me this year. In this role I work with admin and teachers to try to bring new tech initiatives to the school as well as refine our tech policies and update our digital citizenship and tech literacy programming/curriculum.
Besides my professional life, I am in the midst of an interesting personal year. I have recently undergone my first of two knee surgeries (past sports injury), bought and moved into my first home and will be marrying my partner Jocelyn this summer.
I’m looking forward to connecting with you all and seeing where this ad-venture into educational technologies will take us!
(If you’re also in the Vancouver area I hope you’ve been enjoying this weather we’ve been having.)

Hello Nick,
Nice to meet you – congrats on the home purchase; a big feat for a Vancouverite! Which area in the city are you in? We have a place in East Van and I often miss it since it has luxuries that a teacher typically cannot afford in Hong Kong… a bathtub, a dishwasher…. space in general!
Maurice
Hey Maurice, we are in White Rock, moved from Richmond. And yes, I can imagine what an HK apartment would look like. I’ve had a few hotel rooms in HK that literally required you to stand on the bed in order to close the door.
