Hello everyone. ETEC 522 is my sixth MET course and I am proud of myself for having gotten this far! I am originally from Victoria, BC, I call Vancouver home, BUT, I am currently living in Hong Kong with my partner. It has been a wild ride moving to Asia at the end of the pandemic (for you all, it was the end but here, it was/is still a thing). I am currently at the Canadian International School in HK (fitting) and am teaching French, grades 9 through 11. My partner (a counsellor at the same school as me) and I love travelling and we have been lucky enough to have visited Vietnam, the Philippines and India in the past few months. I also attended PD recently in Sydney, Australia. We are going to Taiwan soon and will be in Indonesia during our summer break.

Hey Maurice, I am quite envious of your adventures now that things seemed to have opened up for you over there. I miss the international teaching life. I taught at the Canadian International School in Vietnam for a couple of years. I also now have co-workers from an international school in HK, though I can’t remember if it is the Canadian one. In any case, I love HK. I lived in Shenzhen for two years so often visited HK every month or so. I miss taking the Star Ferry (or whatever the name of that commuter ferry from Kowloon to Central was). Even though you could just take the metro over, I loved getting off and taking the ferry just to enjoy those views.
Hi Maurice, I’m also teaching in Hong Kong. I’ve heard great things about CDNIS and hope to teach there some day. This is my second stint in HK (moved back home to Vancouver for 2022-2023) so let me know if you have any questions about life here and I’ll try my best ot answer.
