Yes – I would invest in this venture. The video pitch is compelling for two reasons: it proactively addresses what we are all wondering: why does someone need an exoskeleton for outdoor adventuring? If someone is already active, doesn’t this just reduce overall effort? The pitch points out that the exoskeleton is not about reducing effort, but advancing what one can achieve: “advancement doesn’t have to be about replacing effort, but expanding it.” The target audience is thus broad: trekkers, hikers, recovering runners, and general ‘outdoorsy’ types. It situates the product along a long historical evolution of explorer technologies used to accomplish the impossible, and in so doing, communicates to the active consumer that the product will assist them in evolving their own personal limits. The tone of the pitch is empowering, uplifting and meant to personally resonate with the target audience. Also, its messaging seems to dovetail with recent trends toward ‘biohacking,’ promising that regardless of age or physical abilities -e.g., knee discomfort, as the pitch mentions), one can pursue new and limitless terrain.
