Hello from Yukon
Hello everybody, my name is David McInnes. I live in Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada and am in my 8th MET course. I am currently an elementary Physical Education teacher, but have taught high school Information Communication Technology, as well as served as the Distributed Learning Consultant for the Yukon Territory. When I am not teaching, coaching or working on my MET courses, I love to ski, climb and play hockey (badly). I am looking forward to the course and working with all of you.

Hi David, I’m interested in what your role as Distributed Learning Consultant entailed. Good to see you can play hockey (badly), I do many things (badly), but get great satisfaction from every moment of fruition, however rare!
Cheers,
Chelsea

Hi Chelsea,
I was responsible for supporting students that were taking courses outside of the regular school classrooms. Most of them provided through the BC ministry.

Hi Greg,
Yep, If you are into hiking and getting into the wilderness, mixed with some history; the Yukon is fantastic. You can retrace the path of the Stampeders on the Chilkoot Trail. It is awesome.

I was able to visit the very bottom of the Yukon last summer when I took a cruise to Alaska. I think the isolation would drive me batty, but it sounds like you keep busy!

Hey Jody,
Yes the cruises are definitely popular here. I love the isolation. It is a long drive to anywhere, but daily direct flights to Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver.
