Hi everyone, my name is Shawn Harris.\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>I am from the beautiful Island of Jamaica but I currently live and work in the country of Turks and Caicos for the past three years. It also has beautiful islands. I have been a teacher for over thirteen years.\u00a0 <\/span>I teach at the primary level Computer Studies and I also teach adults Introduction to computer for the various tasks in their work places. <\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 It goes without saying that at this point in my life, I can attest to the fact that learning truly involves collaboration and participation; ETEC 522 being my 6th<\/sup> MET course.\u00a0 <\/span>I believe in student centered classroom\/environment where learners are fully engaged in meaningful interactions.\u00a0 <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>I am extremely fond of using technology in the classroom because in my experience it has proven to be very engaging for all types of learners. The feedback I receive from the majority of my students when using technology seems to be tremendously positive. Students often describe using technology in the classroom as \u201ca fun way to learn\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n I enjoy teaching and try to touch as many lives as possible with my method of teaching. I have learned a great deal from the MET program so far and I do hope to continue to garner and share much information as I proceed with this course. I sure look forward to working with my peers in collaborating and sharing our experience.<\/span><\/p>\n \n
