{"id":7202,"date":"2011-11-18T12:29:36","date_gmt":"2011-11-18T20:29:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec522sept11\/?p=7202"},"modified":"2011-11-18T12:29:36","modified_gmt":"2011-11-18T20:29:36","slug":"day-1-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec522sept11\/2011\/11\/18\/day-1-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Day 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;color: #262626\">What, when, where and how are you doing m-learning now?<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 36.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;color: #262626\">For the most part I use mobile learning in the classroom when I allow my students to use their cell phones as a dictionary or to look up some information.<span>\u00a0 <\/span>At first I struggled with this as I felt that it was \u2018cheating\u2019 but the more I thought about it I realized that this was part of their everyday lives and I was giving them the tools to operate in their day to day lives. However, I drew the line at tests as I wanted to know what my students capabilities were not their cellphones capabilities. <span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-indent: 36.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;color: #262626\">I also once tried to do a survey where students answered the questions on their cellphones and the results were supposed to show up real time but sadly it didn\u2019t work so I never tried it again.<span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana;color: #262626\"><span>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>For myself, I\u2019m always excited about mobile learning and I\u2019ve downloaded many apps to learn German on my iPhone and for my A1 I analyzed a grammar app I would like to use for a reference when teaching my students in a classroom.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What, when, where and how are you doing m-learning now?
