{"id":8303,"date":"2012-10-04T10:56:33","date_gmt":"2012-10-04T17:56:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec522sept12\/?p=8303"},"modified":"2012-10-04T10:56:33","modified_gmt":"2012-10-04T17:56:33","slug":"showme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec522sept12\/2012\/10\/04\/showme\/","title":{"rendered":"ShowMe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you App OER for leading the way&#8230;i&#8217;ve already shared some resources with colleagues that have helped them immensely.\u00a0 I wanted to share the applicaiton &#8216;ShowME&#8217; as it has made life a little easier, and allowed my students to ShowMe their work\/thinking.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/itunes.apple.com\/ca\/app\/showme-interactive-whiteboard\/id445066279?mt=8\">ShowMe<\/a> is a powerful application which basically turns your iPad into an interactive whiteboard.\u00a0 Import images, work on documents and export anything using email, the photo gallery or other mediums (twitter, facebook, etc.)<\/p>\n<p>The real benefit of this app is how the students can RECORD the entire process of finishing an activity or annotate a document.\u00a0\u00a0I&#8217;m using it for homework assignments in Math.\u00a0 I will post a handout on our webpage, the kids will find the pdf, import it into ShowMe and hit the record button as they&#8217;re working on it.\u00a0 After they email it out to me, or I view it on their iPad, I can see their annotations\u00a0and hear them talking about how they&#8217;re solving the problems.<\/p>\n<p>It has been great to not only see my student&#8217;s thinking, but a great way to show students and their parents where\u00a0an area of improvement or mastery might be.<\/p>\n<p>You need an iPad, but a wonderful resource nonetheless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Thank you App OER for leading the way&#8230;i&#8217;ve already shared some resources with colleagues that have helped them immensely.\u00a0 I wanted to share the applicaiton &#8216;ShowME&#8217; as it has made life a little easier, and allowed my students to ShowMe their work\/thinking.
