With AI, such layering can be generated on the fly, as well as be personal and seamlessly synced with all of the active contexts of your surrounding experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>523 Inspiration:<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>AR&nbsp;<\/strong>enables any environment to be interwoven with innumerable rich&nbsp;learning opportunities&nbsp;designed for specific audiences. &nbsp;The magic is in the ability to engage responsively with aspects of a learner\u2019s objective and personal contexts to stage authentic, meaningful, and participatory learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>N.B. \u2013&nbsp;<strong>AR<\/strong>, together with<strong>&nbsp;VR<\/strong>&nbsp;(Virtual Reality) and&nbsp;<strong>MR<\/strong>&nbsp;(Mixed Reality), are the somewhat overlapping realms of media-enhanced experience now generally referred to collectively as \u201cImmersive Reality\u201d.&nbsp; For the purpose of this course, the focus on&nbsp;<strong>AR<\/strong>&nbsp;is simply that it can be considered more obviously as a mobile technology (as opposed to&nbsp;<strong>VR<\/strong>, for example, which doesn\u2019t usually involve any engagement with the real world).&nbsp; However, within this course you are welcome to pursue your interest in any of these technologies so long as you make it very clear, in a critical sense, what the connection with mobile and\/or open learning is.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Discussion: \u00a0Augmented Reality (AR)\u00a0is about layering\u00a0virtual media\u00a0over\u00a0real world\u00a0experiences to provide additional context, narrative &amp; interaction potential.
