{"id":5705,"date":"2021-03-14T10:44:52","date_gmt":"2021-03-14T17:44:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec523\/?p=5705"},"modified":"2021-03-14T10:48:37","modified_gmt":"2021-03-14T17:48:37","slug":"multi-device-learning-and-articulate-360","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec523\/2021\/03\/14\/multi-device-learning-and-articulate-360\/","title":{"rendered":"Multi-Device Learning and Articulate 360"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><a href=\"https:\/\/articulate.com\/360\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"221\" height=\"71\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec523\/files\/2021\/03\/Screenshot-2021-03-14-at-22.58.16.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5707\" \/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Articulate 360 is an online learning platform (subscription-based) that appears to have encapsulated the essence of mobile learning.&nbsp; It is a series of apps, including <a href=\"https:\/\/articulate.com\/360\/rise\">Rise 360<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/articulate.com\/360\/storyline\">Storyline 360<\/a>, both for designing courses for e-learning that can be used on any device.&nbsp; Their marketing uses the phrase \u201c&#8230;it auto-<em>magically<\/em> plays on any device.\u201d&nbsp; The two course authoring tools allow for different types of course design: slide-based learning (Storyline 360) and web-based learning (Rise 360), which involves scrolling rather than clicking through a series of slides.&nbsp; Articulate 360 seems to be primarily focused on professional learning, such as workplace LMS\u2019s, but it does have a discount for schools and is used by some K-12 educators; check out <a href=\"http:\/\/articulate-heroes-authoring.s3.amazonaws.com\/Trina\/View%20this%20in%20action\/K-12%20Facts%20About%20Blood\/index.html#\/\">this example<\/a> on your mobile and your desktop (example found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/community.articulate.com\/e-learning-examples\">Articulate e-learning examples<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even if the platform is out of reach for a school\u2019s budget, there are some interesting resources and articles about multi-device learning that are easy reads and might be worth looking at for people interested in creating course content that will be consumed on multiple devices.
