It provides a pop-up to notify me whenever the article I am exploring on a site can be fully accessible, either online or as a download. At the click of a button, I can login to the UBC library to gain access to the full text.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Library Access - Access to research anytime, anywhere\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Rev_FQdjSV0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>Promotional explanation of the Library Access browser extension<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This helpful desktop program provides immediate access to any online scholarly article that is available through our UBC library, from any non-UBC website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/guides.library.ubc.ca\/refworks\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/guides.library.ubc.ca\/refworks\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RefWorks<\/a> is an onine document storage system for (mainly) scholarly articles. Of its many functions, I have used folders to keep my research organized and citation to prepare proper APA 7 style references. The <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com\/RefWorks\/Product_Documentation\/RefWorks_User_Guide\/0500_RefWorks_Add-ons%3A_Connecting_Your_Browser%2C_Microsoft_Word%2C_and_Google_Docs_to_RefWorks\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com\/RefWorks\/Product_Documentation\/RefWorks_User_Guide\/0500_RefWorks_Add-ons%3A_Connecting_Your_Browser%2C_Microsoft_Word%2C_and_Google_Docs_to_RefWorks\" target=\"_blank\">browser extension<\/a> allows me to upload an article directly to an existing folder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Using RefWorks\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/EegnO5PnaHA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption>UBC Tutorial for using RefWorks<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I found <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/guides.library.ubc.ca\/connect\/ll\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/guides.library.ubc.ca\/connect\/ll\" target=\"_blank\">Library Access<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/guides.library.ubc.ca\/refworks\">RefWorks <\/a>to be essential tools for my MET courses. For all that I appreciate these programs, they were created for the desktop user.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What scholarly mobile apps do you recommend as a post-secondary student?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The UBC Library has extensions to facilitate scholarly research.
