Welcome to my ETEC 530 Assignment 2 Constructivist lesson.
I am currently a Grade 6 middle school teacher. I teach Individuals and Societies (Social Studies), English Language and Literature and Arts (Visual Arts and Drama).
The lesson that I am adapting for this assignment is actually part of an Interdisciplinary Social Studies and Visual Arts Unit.

However for this assignment, I have attempted to create a revised and updated 1 hour long lesson which will exemplify constructivist teaching methods.

Revised Lesson Plan title – Painting like Cavemen or Expressions of Art by Early Human Species.
Subject/ Grade level – Social Studies and Visual Arts/ Grade 6 (Middle School)
Duration – 1 hour
Audience – ETEC 530 instructor and classmates
Prerequisite Skills – KWL charts, self-management, following instructions
Materials & Tools used – Powtoon, Stormboard, Google Drawings, Blendspace, Youtube videos and various applicable content websites.
Purpose & Rationale – Although I have always had success with this unit as it was, in the revised edition my purpose was to increase collaboration and sharing of ideas through constructivist teaching methods.
The lesson is also reduced in size (from a multi-week unit to a single lesson) and completely available online rather than in a face to face/ blended environment.
