A. Background

This site has been created to fulfil the requirements for ETEC 530 – Assignment 2.

It was designed as a blended professional development opportunity for K-12 publicly funded teachers in Ontario. Ideally, this module or unit would be part of several focusing on software, hardware, peripherals, and online safety to name a few. Teachers would have the opportunity to complete components of this lesson, return to their classroom for trial and exploration, and for the conversation to be ongoing.

It is hosted in UBC blogs, however,  some limitations are recognized in terms of the collaborative sharing space.  However because of the blended nature of this unit, some of the discussions and sharing could happen, face to face, in partners or small group.  This unit within a LMS or wiki which has access to discussion forums might allow for more efficient online collaboration.
