4. Assessment

Your entire project will be assessed in different ways:

1. Final presentation – this will be evaluated by both your teacher and your group according to the Inquiry Project Rubric (below).

2. Completion of a Self-Assessment and Peer-Assessments for the project (see Self- and Group- Assessment Rubrics below).

3. Completion of Final Reflection (individually) following all presentations and class discussion (to be done in your Learning Log).

Hard copies of the forms are available here.

Presentation Assessment

Both the teacher and your group will use the following criteria to assess your presentation. The mark will be combined. Please be sure to support your assessment with examples.

Self and Peer Assessments

Using the rubric below, assess your participation in the entire project (including comments on blog and small group work).

Using the same rubric, assess your team members, completing a form for each group member.

Final Reflection

Think about what you knew about Indian Residential Schools at the beginning of the project. How has your thinking developed or changed from then to the end of the project. If your thinking changed, what influenced it? What are your ideas about why we learn about this aspect of our history in this course?

Write your reflection in your Learning Journal.
