Many well intentioned BYOD programs fail due to a lack of funds. Following is a brief overview of various funding models available to teachers.<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 style=\"text-align: left;\" data-canvas-width=\"192.19199999999998\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Public-Private Partnerships<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-1372\" title=\"Image Credit: http:\/\/www.thehindubusinessline.com\/multimedia\/dynamic\/02594\/bl24_connect_jpg_2594854f.jpg\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec533byodtutorial\/files\/2016\/03\/bl24_connect_jpg_2594854f.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"345\" height=\"172\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec533byodtutorial\/files\/2016\/03\/bl24_connect_jpg_2594854f.jpg 635w, https:\/\/blogs.ubc.ca\/etec533byodtutorial\/files\/2016\/03\/bl24_connect_jpg_2594854f-300x149.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 345px) 100vw, 345px\" \/><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-canvas-width=\"132.3285\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Corporate partnerships<\/strong> &#8211; Many schools and companies have formed partnerships to address needs for Internet access, computers, and digital literacy skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-canvas-width=\"132.3285\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Government backed loans<\/strong> &#8211;<\/span>\n<div data-canvas-width=\"353.27549999999997\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A government-backed loan is a loan secured by the government, thereby protecting lenders and allowing\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">borrowers to secure lower interest rates.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-canvas-width=\"132.3285\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Bundled Service Agreements <\/strong>&#8211;\u00a0Technology businesses, such as cable providers or computer service companies, often partner to offer<\/span>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-canvas-width=\"344.33549999999997\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">special collections of services and equipment.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-canvas-width=\"132.3285\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Seed Funding and Micro-Financing <\/strong>&#8211; These are programs that provide small loans, called micro loans, to people in poor areas around the world. These funds can be used to purchase a variety of critical goods, including computers and other technologies. Public grants are especially useful for projects that require a large budget, due to the fact that public grants are backed by large legislative bodies which typically increase the resources available for the grant project. However, the increased accountability associated with public grants needs to be considered when applying for government funding. Private grants come from local education foundations which are non-profit organizations whose boards represent local community and education leaders and who are financially accountable to their communities. The staff must prepare a large public campaign to secure the award\u00a0of bonds. Even if a bond is passed by voters, this financing method has limits set on the total amount schools can borrow, usually expressed as a percentage of their assessed property value.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>Leasing &#8211; <\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong>Lease purchase agreements are considered to be one of the most flexible technology funding models because they extend the initial purchase costs over several years. While providing competitive interest rates, they also have the ability to offer flexible payment terms that fit into a school\u2019s budget and timetable.<strong data-canvas-width=\"366.03899999999993\"><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong><strong>Universal Service Fees &#8211; <\/strong><\/strong>emerging countries are recognizing the need to find affordable and sustainable ways to provide widespread access to digital devices and broadband connections, especially in rural and remote areas. ICT-Broadband programs combine the purchase of digital devices, broadband internet access, and local software applications at a reduced rate.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Parent or Individual Financing<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-1375\" title=\"Image Credit :
