Deep Kaur<\/span><\/h4>\n

Deep Kaur is a K-12 Science and Math educator in British Columbia and a graduate student in the Master of Education Technology program at The University of British Columbia. She earned a Bachelor\u2019s in Education (Physics major) and Masters in Physics. Prior to this she worked as a physics instructor in an Engineering College in India. \u00a0With the help of educational technology (specifically BOYD’s) she aims to improve the blended learning experience, to help students with learning differences, and to improve the efficiency of her own teaching practice. She is interested in brain-based education and research and her long term goal is to do a Ph.D. in the field of neuroscience and its application in education.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stephen Walsh<\/span><\/h4>\n

Stephen Walsh is a K-6 teacher\u00a0in Newfoundland and Labrador and a student of the Master of Education Technology program at the University of British Columbia. He has earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and English and a Bachelor of Education. He has taught in the public and private systems of Canada and South Korea for a number of years. He sees BYOD as a method to teach skills that students will require in their futures.\u00a0He is interested in how children acquire reading and writing skills and is excited about the possibilities that technology brings to that area. He is also interested in second language acquisition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rob Telford<\/span><\/h4>\n

Rob Telford is a senior biology teacher at Carihi Secondary School in Campbell River BC. He has a B.Sc. in Biology & Environmental Studies, a B.Ed., and is currently completing his Masters in Educational Technology at UBC. He hopes to use BYOD to\u00a0harness the power of his students’ devices, since they’ve already taken the time to master their use! He has a keen interest in inquiry models of learning and uses biology as a means to this end.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sayali<\/span><\/h4>\n

Sayali\u00a0 is a Science and Life Skills teacher in Bharat Vidyalay, a school catering solely to underprivileged students in Wai, India. She is a graduate student in the Master of Education Technology program at The University of British Columbia. She plans to use BYOD as a medium for making inquiry based education available to her students, especially since smartphones have started being affordable even in the rural pockets of India. Apart from teaching, her interests include theatre, music and dance.<\/span><\/p>\n
