-
Bach, Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F. First Movement, Munich Bach Orchestra, Karl Richter, conductor.
-
Beethoven, Fifth Symphony, First Movement, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Otto Klemperer, conductor.
-
Beethoven String Quartet No. 13 in B Flat, Opus 130, Cavatina, performed by Budapest String Quartet
I had written some notes as I listened to the Golden Record and curated the 10 pieces; and it was afterwards that I gained some insight on my “system” of choices. Firstly, I did not choose based on specific criteria, I chose based on preference. This is a curation of music that I felt familiar with and evoked a particular memory or feeling. Secondly, I ended up choosing pieces that were in essence more of European or Western influences; of which I am more familiar with. And lastly, as a music lover, I thoroughly enjoyed this task but overall feel that my curated 10 reflect a very specific portion of my musical taste.
