    Hi David,

I like how you incorporated the sounds of each component of your bag into your audio file. I think the umbrella was the most satisfying sound, and tried to figure out why. The answer comes with its use- once that “flupht” sound hits, you know that you are carrying a tool that will protect you from the elements (so long as it rains vertically). This is a sound that takes up space, and assures a dry head, for unpanicked thinking. Another sound that perked up my ears was the connected USB device. That rising sound for me means that my computer has connected with my peripheral device – something akin to Pavlov’s effect, I know that I can move forward with whatever data I need to work with! Thanks for the music!

Thank you for your response, Evelyne. I not only appreciate your onomatopoetic description of the opening umbrella sound, but I also value your perspective on how the Pavlovian connotations of sounds can correlate to their degree of satisfaction. It occurred to me throughout this process that the trademarked computer sounds (bah bing, do doo da doo) extend the domain of branding beyond the visual to the auditory.
