Éy swáyel. My name is Elaine Lee and I live and teach on the traditional territory of the Stó:lō people, the Semá:th and Mathxwí First Nation. With this, I respect the longstanding relationships that Indigenous Nations have with this land, as they are the original caretakers. I moved a number of times throughout my life: Richmond, Langley, Fort Langley, Surrey were all places I’ve called home, and now I finally settled in Abbotsford. I finished the BEd program at UBC in 2018 and have been teaching ever since. I taught Grade 4/5s for the first three years of my career and Kindergarten/Grade 1 for the last two years. In my spare time, I like to explore and support local restaurants/cafes. I also enjoy crafting on my own, recently I have been into making handmade candles and lotion. I am currently working on my 5th and 6th courses in the MET program!
