Do you normally write by hand or type? Did you find this task difficult or easy? Explain.
Normally, I do write notes or a ‘to do’ list. However, lately I have been typing notes and saving documents on my laptop. It has saved me lots of time when looking for documents because I can easily search for it on my laptop. Overall, this task was not difficult to complete because I grew up taking a lot of notes in school. One aspect that made it difficult for me was to know how much I had written. A word count tool is not an option when you are writing by hand. Also, I was worried if my writing was going to be legible.

What did you do when you made a mistake or wanted to change your writing? How did you edit your work? Did your choice of media play a part in how you edited your work?
This reflection was easy to write because I wanted to reflect on my first month of school. I was quite surprised while I was reading, that I did not have to cross out many words or sentences. For this activity when I made a mistake, I ended up crossing out the word. I didn’t have white-out at home so that was my solution! Sometimes when I catch myself writing the wrong letter or word, I will try to improve and make it work- but that was not the case this time. In the past, I  used pencils quite frequently because using pencils allowed me to make mistakes and make changes to the writing.

What do you feel is the most significant difference between writing by hand and using mechanized forms of writing? Which do you prefer and why?
In my opinion, when people write by hand you may have the opportunity to see the progress of the work (the editing). You might see ideas that may have been scratched out. You get to see the original work that the writer was trying to present to the reader. When people use mechanized forms, I feel that you will only see the finished product and you never see how it was produced. The finished product definitely looks more appealing when a mechanized tool is used.
