As you know, we will be using this space to compile the assignments (if you have not received an email from me by now, please let me know). I would like to give you a quick introduction to this weblog:
On the landing page, you will always find the most recent posts. On the top menu you will find two pages: About this blog (a short description of the site) and recent activity.
One of the main challenges for you (and me) is to navigate through the contributions of 40+ people. To help all of us dealing with this, there are a few tools available. The first one (the easiest to use) is the second page on the top menu, which displays the most recent activity in the post. The other is to follow the blog’s feed, which you can also find on the right sidebar.
On the right sidebar of the dashboard (at the backend), you’ll find the categories menu. The categories menu will allow you (and me) to find all the assignments, announcements and introductions. The category that each post belongs to is set by you on the right panel of the Post dialog. This is really important, otherwise, it will be really difficult for me to trace all your assignments for assessment. You must have at least one category, but you can also add as many tags (at the bottom of the post area) to facilitate the navigation. If you are not familiar with the WordPress environment, I highly recommend you these WordPress tutorials. However, if you have any question about the platform, please do not hesitate in asking me.
Finally, from time to time I will be posting announcements like this one. You will find them under “announcements” in the categories menu. These announcements will be numbered, so you do not lose track of them.
