Hello everyone!
My name is Marcia. I have been living in San Francisco with my husband and 2 year old since 2012 but grew up in Surrey, BC. At this moment, I am in France on a busy vacation and will be returning to San Francisco on Saturday. I hope I am posting this correctly in the right spot! Forgive me if it’s not, I am always learning!
I have taught in both public and private school, mostly preschool and primary education. When I left the Surrey School District I was teaching Kindergarten and my last position in San Francisco was at a private preschool with a no-screen policy. This environment made me really interested to learn more about the role of technology for young children. Now that I am a stay at home Mom of a toddler, I am even more interested in how best to manage screen time and the technology in my child’s life.
The photo I inserted is of my daughter reading in the waiting room at her first dentist appointment. She was quite happy to be looking at books in the waiting room but moments later was screaming and crying for the next half an hour or so.
Looking forward to working with you all. This is only my second semester of the MET program and it’s nice to already see familiar names. Welcome everyone!

Hi Marcia! Glad to “see” you again 🙂
France, you say? Amazing! Is your daughter with you? We have an extended family vacay planned for France, but not until my youngest is 16…in 5 years!
Enjoy every minute of your vacation. Hopefully, you can read on the plane and get a jump on the courses.
Cheers!

Hi Carri-Ann, it’s nice to “see” you again, too!
Yes, we took our daughter to France. Just got back today and we are all exhausted and know it will be difficult to adjust back to regular time. I just realized I forgot to post an image…oops. I’ll have to figure out how to add to my post or just post a photo separately! France was wonderful but I think we planned a few too many activities. We were jumping around from place to place so it ended up being a tad too many planes and trains and automobiles!
