Hello all!
I completed my research and video on the penny press. I choose this topic mostly because I’m fascinated with history and this seemed really interesting to me! I actually really enjoyed the research aspect of this project and how relevant it is to issues today.
I used VideoScribe to create my video. I had previously had a free trial and didn’t quite find that I had enough time with it. Having access to an account through UBC was great and I thought that I would love to be able to use it in my classroom at some point. The process of making the video was a positive experience, trying to upload it to youtube, however, was an absolute nightmare. After having to redo a good portion of my video at a different video capture percentage, and then ultimately using Debut to film it whilst playing on my computer screen, I would safely say that longer videos are not ideal to complete on VideoScribe! I’ve learned a few valuable lessons along the way. (Big thanks to Sally for her help in Mattermost!) However, despite hours of waiting for my video to upload, it is now finally on youtube – thank goodness!!
