I wanted to continue on my experimentation with interactive media by creating a VR game like presentation. I took the new VR creation tool CoSpaces and created a small game in a town environment. I looked back on my blog posts and pulled together a number of ideas that I thought pinpointed the many platforms that contributed to the evolving state of text in our society. I then grabbed gifs or pictures to visualize the text and coded a game in which the user must hunt down all 10 text pieces to complete the level. What I want to achieve with a presentation like this is show that in a classroom even the way that we present text to others is going through a massive transition to more interactive, immersive environments. If you have VR goggles you can place your phone in them and play this game completely surrounded in a 360 skybox, as well you can walk around and click on the various visuals to collect them. What was once text on a piece of papyrus has come to a point where text is completely multimodal. Your relationship with the text changes when you can walk right up to it and it’s form can be altered by touching it or it transitions you to a new space. I am glad this course has given me insight into where we have come from with text and what frontier we are moving towards. It’s a journey as an educator I am apprehensive and exited to be on and curious as to where it takes my students and I in the coming years. (Link below)

So much fun!
I am really enjoying seeing how each of us used such different programs and skills and came up with so many different projects! I was happy I found all of the items hahaha
Thanks for this creative and entertaining project you put together.
